VolunteerPAWS for Irving Animals is a hands-on volunteer-run organization. We provide on-site volunteer support for the Irving Animal Shelter. And, we also run our own foster-based non-profit rescue organization. All of that work takes a lot of volunteers, and we’re excited that you’re interested in joining us!

Shelter-based volunteer opportunities

The Irving Animal Shelter takes in over 5,600 animals each year and the animals there need all the help they can get! Volunteer opportunities at the shelter include:

  • exercising and socializing animals
  • photography and videography
  • grooming
  • kennel cleaning
  • off-site adopt events

To volunteer at the Irving Animal Shelter, you must complete the volunteer orientation session provided by the DFW Humane Society, which shares the same facility as the Irving Animal Shelter. If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Learn more and register!
